Busy weekend ahead

Ed walked the Manzur vineyard yesterday, and he has decided to move up the Cabernet harvest to this weekend. He says the grape tannins taste ripe and the stars are aligned. (His brief sojourn as Errázuriz’s biodynamic specialist apears to have affected his brain.) Stars or no stars, that will mean a busy weekend for the Flaherty crew, as we’ll have to press out the first two bins of Syrah to make room for the Cabernet. We’re looking forward to trying out our new press!

The current fermentations are moving along very nicely. The temperatures have stayed down, and the densities are dropping steadily. We should have some pretty Syrah components for 2009.
